Chopstick etiquette that is not good to do in front of Japanese people on dinner table.
There are two types of chopstick etiquette that you should never do when eating in Japan.
This is your first time coming to Japan and you are eating using chopsticks. You are having a hard time getting used to using chopsticks. Don't worry. You are a foreigner. The restaurant staff and host will take good care of you.
However, I recommend that you never do these two things. It will probably make the place look very dark and the atmosphere around the table will be bad.
In Japan, it is a serious violation of etiquette to stick your chopsticks vertically into rice. This means the rice that was placed on the grave.
Maybe the religious Japanese people, will remember their grandfather's grave and give me a displeased look.

It is not okay for you to use your chopsticks to pick up something that the person next to you grabbed with their chopsticks. This is called chopstick passing and is etiquette at a funeral. Japanese people find this very unpleasant.
Maybe we remember the funeral ceremony for our grandmother who passed away last year.

If you want to eat a large plate of food that you can't reach, feel free to ask someone nearby. Maybe they'll serve it in small plates.

After drinking too much sake at dinner, you get drunk and start playing by hitting the dishes with your chopsticks instead of a drum.
Speak loudly while stuffing your mouth with food, licking your chopsticks. and so on...
Do not worry about. Many breaches of etiquette in the world are common sence in Japan as well.

First time in Japan. Japanese table manners may give you a bit of a culture shock.
