SUSE Linux 10 への BABr11.5 ARCserve のインストール

ここでは BrightStore ARCserve Backup 11.5 for Linux のインストール手順を説明します。

例えば公開用 Web Server などを XEN 仮想化して運用すれば、いざという時にリストアが容易であるし、サーバ本体(Domain-0) をインターネットに接続できないように設定しておけば、サーバ自体はアタックされる可能性はありません。

まぁ、XEN の domain-U のディスクイメージは tar によるバックアップでも十分でしょうが、慣れていないオペレータのためには ARCserve などのＧＵＩバックアップを用意しておくことも（余計かもしれないけれど）親切というものでしょう。

前提条件
1)HTTP サーバが動作している必要があります。 YaST > Networks Service > HTTP Server を開き、HTTP サービスが動作しているか確認してください。
2)適切なネットワーク設定が行われている必要があります。スタンドアローン運用されている場合でも、ネットワークポートにＩＰアドレスにスタティックなアドレスが設定されていないとインストールに失敗します。

インストールの開始
BAB_r_11_5_LNX CD-ROM を挿入して install シェルを Run Terminal で実行します。

まだ、 Java のプラグインがインストールされていないため、アイコンが出てきません。


jdk-6u3-linux-i586-rpm.bin　のインストール
　http://java.sun.com から適切な Java Runtime Edition を捜してインストールします。
ここでは　jdk-6u3-linux-i586-rpm.bin　をインストールしてみます。ダウンロードしたインストーラに X (実行)フラグをつけます。

でインストールします。

Fire Fox プラグインへ登録

/user/lib/firefox/plugin に ns7 用 libjavaplugin.oji.so のシンボリックリンクを　ln -s コマンドで作ります。
